Hello,
I know its probably an easy question but whats the difference between and anti neutrino and neutrino.
I think in negative beta decay an antineutrino is produced and then in positive beta decay a neutrino is produced but I dont understand what really is the difference.
Thanks!
anti-neutrino and neutrino
The neutrino was originally proposed as a particle having spin, but no mass or charge, in order to conserve spin in nuclear reactions. As spin is (or was thought to be) its only property, then it is the only quantity to be reversed in its antiparticle: an antineutrino has opposite spin to a neutrino.I know its probably an easy question but whats the difference between and anti neutrino and neutrino.
Recent results suggest a non-zero but very small mass for the neutrino. This complicates the picture very considerably.
